IEEE-USA MOVE (Mobile Outreach using Volunteer Engagement) Program

IEEE-USA MOVE works with the American Red Cross to provide emergency relief to victims of natural disasters with communications, lighting, and power solutions across the USA. The program is run by IEEE volunteers, funded by donations, and supported by IEEE-USA staff.

Since 2016, IEEE-USA MOVE has responded to more than 40 disasters, including hurricanes, tornados, fires, and floods. They have deployed in a dozen states, including Alabama, Arizona, Florida, Kentucky, Louisiana, Missouri, Mississippi, North Carolina, New Mexico, South Carolina, Tennessee, and West Virginia.

Currently, there are three MOVE trucks across the USA, and we plan to have a truck in every IEEE Region in the US. When not supporting disaster victims, the MOVE trucks are used for STEM outreach.

Your donations to the IEEE-USA MOVE program are used to support deployments, train volunteers, maintain the existing vehicles, upgrade equipment, and add more trucks to the program.
