IEEE Mary Ellen Martin Zellerbach Memorial Fund

Mary Ellen Martin Zellerbach, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, business leader, mentor, and IEEE Foundation Board member, passed away on 18 June 2025. To honor her memory, the IEEE Foundation has established the IEEE Mary Ellen Martin Zellerbach Memorial Fund.

The Fund will advance the IEEE Women in Engineering (WIE) Family Cares Grant (FCG) program, which helps In Memory of Mary Ellen IEEE WIE members alleviate the financial burden of caring for family member(s) so they can attend an IEEE conference that will advance their career. Donations will allow IEEE WIE to award additional FCG Grants to multiple “Zellerbach Grantees” beginning in 2026 and for as long as the Fund is active.

Thanks to the generosity of the IEEE Foundation, the first $20,000 in donations to the Fund will be matched 1:1.
