Each year, IEEE-USA sponsors several Government Fellows who spend a year living and working in Washington as advisers to the U.S. Congress, the U.S. Department of State or the U.S. Agency for International Development. This program connects science, technology, and engineering professionals with the U.S. government, allowing them to gain experience in public policy while sharing their expertise with policymakers.
Since 1973, IEEE-USA has sponsored about 170 Government Fellows to continue its mission of serving the public good and providing educational opportunities for its members. Fellows are IEEE Members who are selected by the IEEE-USA Government Fellows Committee and confirmed by the Board.
We invite IEEE’s U.S. members and others who believe in the Government Fellows program to make donations or leave bequests to IEEE-USA’s Government Fellowship Fund. Please remember that charitable contributions to IEEE and the IEEE Foundation are tax-deductible to the fullest extent allowed by law in the United States, offering an effective way to support a worthy cause. For individuals in other countries, please consult your local tax advisor.
